I'm ever so very excited to join a group of blogging friends lead by Marty from A Stroll Thru Life to give you a peek inside our homes all decked out for the holidays!
Christmas home tour week is lots of fun and this time you're in for a treat with thirty beautiful homes which you can take inspiration from. If you're popping over from Anita from Whispering Pines Homesteadhello and welcome! I'm so happy to have you here. If you haven't visited Anita's home, well, I have to tell you that her Christmas tours are one of my very favorites every single year.
Today I'm sharing my family room and kitchen and doing a little re-cap of a few rooms I already shared. The living room and office will be shared in an upcoming post.
Let's start here in our family room, this year I went for a more neutral palette, adding lots of black and gold nixed with green and a teensy bit of red for good measure. :)

Ha, my family loves red... I still remember the year when I went all blue and they didn't like it one single bit. From then on, red always has to be incorporated in our holiday décor.
This is the first year that I'm adding black and I'm loving it, I don't know why I didn't use it before, it's so classic!
Don't you love it when you score a good thrifty find?! I've been searching Marketplace, Craiglist and even doing a few trips to our closest thrift stores trying to find décor elements and furnishings to help one of my daughter's friends with her new apartment.
I couldn't give you an update on that project, which was supposed to happen early this week. My daughter wasn't feeling well and we thought it was COVID-19 - Well, the test results came back yesterday with a negative result. We are so relieved, we were all on edge for a few days trying to keep her quarantined in her room.
During my thrifty search, this gold urn crossed my path and I instantly fell in love. I gave it a good wash and polished it. Some marks remained but I love it just the way it is. The inside is silver and I only paid six dollars for it. Score!
Looking to the other side of this room, the build in keeps this room organized. On the shelves I created mini villages which I think turned out very cute!
I removed the wallpaper from the side shelves. I kept the wallpaper in the center, but I will probably take it off soon.
During winter I enjoy the light bouncing back.
Now, the kitchen table is the piece that separates the family room from the kitchen. It's here where we have our daily meals. We use it so much that, as you can see, we have a mismatched chair, I'm on the hunt for a new set. :D
This is also the first time I'm using a real garland around the window. My son made me laugh when he saw it and told me it looked kind of crazy! :D I didn't want to fiddle with it much, but hey, it smells divine!
The red berry branches on the kitchen island is the pop of red we needed.
Fruits and vegetables are the ideal décor here in the kitchen. My daughter was also making fun of me for camouflaging avocados in between the tangerines.
It got decorated with tons of red, a good bunch of little hanging planters and I even stuffed a desk (another thrifty find) full of Christmas cheer! Check it out right HERE.
Thank you so much for touring with me today! Wishing you all the happiest holiday season this year and hoping 2021 will be WAAAYY better than this year.
The tours continue tomorrow at Citrine Living with Tamara's sophisticated style. I'm sure you're going to love it!
Be sure to check out the rest of the tours throughout the week! Blessings to you all! ❤️
Gurl....you have done such an amazing job creating such a beautiful holiday home for you and your family. Please tell your son that crazy looking garland is perfectly acceptable. In fact the crazier the better! :) Glad your daughter had a negative outcome. Happy holidays!
This is something I love about our blogging community, we know what is right! 😂 The latest joke about the garland is that it looks like the Grinch's arms and hands, ready to grab you! 😂😂 Thanks Laura!
I absolutely love your home, so beautiful. Your family room and kitchen are so beautifully decorated for Christmas. I love the touch of black and red that you've added. I think the window garland and the bowl of fruit with avocados are both perfect. So fun. Your diy projects have all added so much to your home, that new mudroom is such a fabulous space and decorated so pretty too. Thanks so much for joining the tours again this season. Your home is always one I look forward to.
Tell your family that they should appreciate your efforts in decorating the kitchen more! ;) It all looks great, by the way. I always love seeing how you've decorated. Merry (early) Christmas, Cristina!
Your house as usual, it looks so festive and beautiful ! You are so talented querida Cristina. Hope all is well at your lovely home, especially with your family. Happy Xmas Season. Un abrazo grande, Fabby
Your home looks amazing dressed up for the holidays (and your photography is amazing as well!). I, too, get some wise cracks from the peanut gallery around here when I change up the decorations! Lol!
Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season!
P.S. Both my kids have taken multiple COVID tests over the past few weeks. All negative (phew) so far!
