Fall Living Room Decor

Thanks so much for all the love on my previous post, the Fall home tour. Hey, the tour is still going on strong, five days, and 30 homes full of fall décor inspiration. All the links are at the end of this post, be sure to visit and get inspired!

I added fall decor to the upper level of our home which is the bedrooms, but I just couldn't stop there.

I had to also bring something to the living room which is at the very entrance of our home.

The blue in the rug was brought up to the wall art there in between the windows and I also added lots of plum and mustard yellows.

Seasonal decor - fall

For the most part of the Summer, I displayed here a beautiful blue hydrangea plant. Well, no, this is not the same plant. I brought it out to the garden when the blooms faded.

For this new arrangement, I bought three faux hydrangeas in this beautiful plum color - The left picture below. But, I also added a few dried blooms I cut from a mature plant in my garden.

The colors are similar, but the faux blooms are definitely bigger and the colors deeper.

Pumpkins are a most during Fall, these faux ones will do while I can get my hands on some real ones.

Just the same as in the bedrooms, changing the throw pillows and adding a cozy blanket is all one room needs to transition its décor from one season to another.

Early this Spring I got a set of these wooden lanterns at my local Wegmans. I love the dark wooden tone and the detailing on them. A pumpkin is displayed proudly inside, but I can't wait to decorate them for Christmas with lots of shimmering lights.

Oh, once again I updated the curtains. I love the white and blue stripe ones I used during Summer, but they were too summery.  These new sets with all that yummy texture were also found at HomeGoods.

Here, coming down the stairs, I couldn't help but smile and take this picture of Louie in his favorite spot. I might say his guardian spot, waiting for the smallest movement to start barking! :D

I'm loving the vibrant color combo this room is sporting.

That's one of the things I love about neutral rooms or white rooms, you can change the accessories in your colors of choice for the new season, and voila! your room is done.

This new color palette ties in nicely with the decor elements in the contiguous office space.

  2. LOVE the colors and items you chose! All my rooms are neutral with big pops of color, and I do switch out seasonally. To me, the neutral background is soothing, but the colors add some energy. Love reading your blog!
