I'm, as always, so very excited to be a part of the Summer Home Tour series hosted by my dear friend Marty from A Stroll Thru Life! If you're popping over from Anita's gorgeous tour via Far Above Rubies. Welcome! Isn't she so talented?!
I first wanted to name this a navy-and-aqua Summer home tour, given that I've added lots of navy throughout the house. However, I changed my mind when looking through the pictures; I noticed that I also have lots of green and yellow in the mix.

You can see it right here in our family room.
What a difference from its previous blank slate!
It gave the entire room a dramatic new vibe, and the best part is that it was easy to install, and I can change it whenever I want.

Clippings from the yard are my favorite summer bouquets. After all, they're free. 🌿😉
Pillow covers are the other item I change with the seasons.
Right now, I'm head over heels with this pretty botanical pillow cover from my friend Jill from Sew A Fine Seam.
MASTER BEDROOM
The white linens against the dark wall give my bedroom a crisp, fresh look. It's infrequent for me to come to my bedroom during the day, especially during the summer.

THE BACKYARD
Well, gals, during the day you can find me either in the garage working on my latest project, or here in the backyard.

After being confined to our homes for so long, we're all trying to get the most out of our outdoor spaces this summer.

It's here where all the navy, teal, and green are going on.
I re-painted these chairs a few days ago, and they look brand new again. Paint transformations are some of my favorites.
In one of my previous posts, I shared the fantastic show this Knock-out rose bush put on a couple of weeks ago.

This beautiful scene I get to see from the kitchen window makes the task of washing dishes a little less daunting.

We love to enjoy this space at the end of the day when the sun is fading away, and the lights are turned on.
We can stay here until the wee hours, reading, chatting, gathering around the fire, and making S'mores.
Those two darling little frogs are my daughter's creations.
Working with clay is one of her favorite pastimes.
I'm so fortunate to be the primary recipient of her beautiful creations. 🙂

Cold drinks are a summer staple.
And fairy lights are the special touch to give the entire backyard a dreamy ambiance.

Thanks so much for joining the tours, your home is so beautiful. Adding the color in your wonderful wall of built-ins was such a great idea, it definitely makes a statement and I also love the statement your bedroom wall makes. The architectural interest you added to that wall and the dramatic dark color are show-stoppers. I gotten so much inspiration from the lights on your patio, I need to add something to our yard. Thanks again, I loved the tour.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Marty! Adding peel and stick paper sure is easier than painting all those shelves. And hey, those lights would be the perfect addition to your pretty yard. Thanks for being such a wonderful host! 💙
DeleteIt all looks so beautiful! Love that blue on the back of your built in shelves and the wall in your bedroom. I'm a big fan of fairy lights in the summer too. Are those lights on the inside of your patio umbrella built in to it or did you add those? I bet it looks so pretty at night out there!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn, thanks! Yes, those lights on the umbrella are built in to it. They're solar powered and yes, at night time all those lights look wonderful! Last night my kids were having a blast right there.
DeleteWow Cristina, I'm always amazed at the projects you build, but everything else is spectacular as well! Your back yard is amazing and I'd never leave it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Anita! Summer nights right there in the yard are the best!
DeleteI love what you have done with the built-ins, Cristina. You have such a great eye.
ReplyDeleteAww thanks E!
DeleteBeautiful tour indoors and out! Like you, I have been spending a lot more time outdoors over the past two months and I am really more focused on our outdoor living spaces and garden right now. I love the inspiration you shared, especially the colors you choose for your patio furntiure and accessories, and the lights which make summer nights magical. I love frogs those frogs especially!
