Simple Fall Home Tour

Cristina Garay hanging fall wreath on front door

Hello there!

It's that time of the year once again, the time to say goodbye to shorts and sandals for boots and sweaters. Well, if only the weather could get that memo! :) We're still having high temperatures that are keeping everything outside the front door bright green. Ha, let's be patient because in only one week Fall will be here which means we girls in the decorating world can start unpacking the cozy throws, pillows, and pumpkins!

I'm happy to be sharing my simple home tour with you today as part of the series that my dear friend Marty from A Stroll Thru Life hosts every season.

If you're coming from Southern Home & Hospitality or if you're one of my regular readers welcome! Isn't Kate's home stunning? I adore her front porch.

Be sure to visit all the home tours at the end of this post!

Here at Remodelacasa, DIY projects were put on hold during Summer. I went on vacation to visit my family in Colombia and just a few weeks ago I was enjoying a full week in the Caribbean.

It was hard to come back to my usual routines, but hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! :D
Besides going grocery shopping, cleaning the house, and doing loads of laundry, I also had to decorate for Fall.

The theme for today's simple fall tour is "let's decorate with what we have!"

I just have to say, thank goodness for having a basement that allows me to store plenty of decor items and tons of other stuff that I can use over and over when decorating my home. Let's remind ourselves that we don't need elaborate displays and expensive seasonal decor!

Today I'm sharing with you a few of the decor items that I grabbed from storage to once again, put on display. They're decor elements that we can use every single Fall.

WREATHS

Nothing like a wreath on the front door to welcome the new season. This time around, I only spruced it up by adding a long golden bow.

However, there's a multitude of ways how you can display wreaths! Set them atop your mantel, on the back of a chair, on the shelves, or on top of a side table to name a few.

LANTERNS

I love lanterns! My mini-collection is always a lifesaver when decorating for Fall and Winter. You can always bring them to life by lighting a candle or adding twinkling lights, but you can also display seasonal decor inside of them.

As you can see, the foyer and our family room were the two areas that got prettied up for autumn.

COZY PILLOWS & THROWS

Oh, I couldn't leave these out! Decorative pillows and throws are a staple during every single season. For fall, use more appropriate colors such as burgundy, yellow, or brown. You can also use neutral tones with lots of texture.

FRESH FLOWERS

If you can't get them from your own garden, this is the only item you might need to buy. A bouquet of fresh flowers not only adds color to your room but also gives off a sweet fragrance and wonderful atmosphere to the space.

CANDLES

Sweet pumpkin spice, cinnamon pumpkin, apple cider... Candles scents for fall are just yummy and they bring the cozy factor up a notch.

PUMPKINS

Another staple during Fall decor. I couldn't find any real pumpkins before taking these pictures. Nothing to fear!

My faux little and not-so-little pumpkins were there in a big bag in the basement.

I keep on displaying them every single year.

On the mantel, they go.

As well as inside a bowl on the kitchen island.

Perfect decor for your bedrooms and even the bath.

FESTIVE VASES & DECOR

Vases and decorative pieces sporting the color of the season or in a rustic or distressed manner will add to the autumn vibes going on in your room.

I kept a very muted palette when decorating the built-in for the season

NATURAL ELEMENTS

Fall is the season to bring the outdoors in. Wooden objects or pieces made of wicker, rattan, etc. Pinecone, acorns, nuts, wheat, leaves, branches, as well as seasonal fruits and vegetables, are good decorating choices during fall.

I also set a pretty Fall table that you can check right HERE.

This pumpkin trio was my solution to wall decor in between the curtains behind the table.

My old amber bottle collection was another element that was brought out to decorate the table.

    1. Thanks Julia! Ugh, storing stuff in the attic is a pain. I once tried it and never used it again.
