17 Inviting Summer Bedrooms

shelves with fireplace decorated for summer with little plants

Creating a fresh and inviting bedroom just might be the ticket to relaxation at the end of a hot summer day.  Whohoo, the almost three-digit temperatures, and humidity are sure making us enjoy the comforts of home even more!

Today I'm joining forces with a group of friends led by Marty from A Stroll Thru Life to bring you 17 beautiful and inviting summer bedrooms where you can draw ideas and inspiration to create your very own relaxing space.

If you're coming over from Amy from 11 Magnolia Lane or if you're one of my regulars, welcome! I'm so glad you're here.

My bedroom got a big makeover exactly a year ago. After living in a shabby chic room for a very long time, I went in a totally new direction and I've been enjoying this room so much more ever since.

The dark accent wall gives the entire space a cool, serene vibe. While the slanted ceiling gives the room architectural interest and makes it feel spacious.

The changes this room received for summer were minimal. However, the most important change for me might be the bedding. Replacing the sheets I used during winter and early spring for a crisp cool set of white ones is awesome. That's perhaps one of the things I look forward to that makes me feel like I'm being pampered after a busy day in my garage shop.

You can check the project I've been working on -right HERE.

Now, a good pop of color came by using lots of plants, real and faux. I turned the built-in shelves into a succulent display.

The little succulents are faux. I've had real ones, but for some reason, I always forget to water them unless they're in the bathroom. Here on the shelves, I had to go the safe route.

All the rooms in our home get lots of light, that's something I love about this house. One of the reasons why, lately, I've been "collecting" real indoor plants.
Moroccan Pouf | Accent Chair | DIY Jewelry Organizer |

This little one is thyme, I had it in my kitchen sill, but that spot was a bit too bright and hot for this pretty one to handle, so I brought it here to the bedroom and I've been enjoying its aroma every time I sit there on the chair.
I had the fiddle leaf fig behind the chair, right there by the window. It was hard to see, except when I was there in bed.
Well, since it has grown like crazy, I moved it there to the tallest spot in the room, right by the entrance to the bathroom. There, she's shining!  I keep that door open so she can still get lots of light which she loves.

I kept a monochromatic color scheme, although I first tried some colorful throw pillows, I thought they were deterred from the cool vibe I was going for.
Standing in the bathroom I get this crisp view of the bedroom.
And here, looking the other way is the big mirror to the left and the master bathroom to the right.

I love the classic palette in both rooms.

These two rooms make me so happy! I feel so lucky to have these beautiful spaces whenever I feel the need to unplug from the world. It is so important to have a lovely space to relax and recharge.

I leave you today with a list of my main staples to create a cool summer bedroom retreat:
  • Keep the room uncluttered
  • White crisp sheets on the bed
  • Add plants - I like to see green in the room
  • Blackout curtains or a way to filter light
  • Maybe a ceiling fan if air circulation isn't great in your room.

Happy Summer friends!

The tours continue tomorrow over at Clean & Scentsible, you're going to love Jenn's gorgeous bedroom!

    1. Oh, working there in the garage has been insane these past days. Well, that's the main reason why I haven't posted an update. After 2 pm is impossible to work in there.🥵
