Blue Spring Table

A beautiful and budget friendly table setting in blue and white sets the mood for Spring and Easter entertainment.

After a deep cleaning and decorating of the kitchen and most of the rooms on the main floor, getting them ready for Spring, I was about to go take a shower and call it a day.  Yep. I was tired.

One more look around the space... Oops an empty bottle of water.. I took it to the garage to throw it away, the twentieth trip there. Getting back inside the house, the first thing I noticed was my empty kitchen table.

It looked sad.

It didn't look like Spring had arrived there.

Before heading upstairs to take that shower, I  had to do something to it.

Well, yes!

Five minutes is the time you'll spend setting a pretty table with items already at hand.

At that time I didn't know that the following days we were going to use this table almost three times a day everyday!
Those extra five minutes I took to set the table were so worth it.

If you want to set a pretty table this week, I would suggest that you start with something you want to highlight.

It can be the beautiful china, a bouquet of flowers, a tablecloth, some gorgeous napkins...

My starting point was the little pitcher and cups set that my daughter gifted me last year. She made them and I've used the cups mostly, but  I've never before used them in one of my table settings.
From there on I continued...  I got the blue runner(s) and gingham napkins, the white dinner plates paired up with the blue salad plates.

I kept on adding the other items needed on the table, keeping the color similar to the color on the pitcher and little cups.

You can do the same or you can also use a contrasting color.
Some texture was brought in with the willow wicker chargers.
Flowers or branches from the yard always make a wonderful centerpiece.
We've been enjoying lots of hot tea. This little blue box of tea was a present from my sister in Colombia to my daughter during our stay there in her home.
I've noticed that if I have the table set, the less likely people is going to leave stuff on it.
After we finish eating our meals, I clean the table and set it again with white plates on each charger, ready for the next meal! :D

Have a wonderful week!
