A Starry Christmas Bedroom

My bedroom got a big makeover during Summer and for the most part, it has stayed the same. It wasn't in my plans to bring lots of Christmas decor to this room, I had a little banner on the wall and two Christmas pillows on the bed. But, after finding those cute stars I couldn't come home fast enough to hang them in place and give the room a more cohesive look.

I'll be visiting my
family in Colombia in a couple of weeks, the past few days I was a busy bee getting all my necessities for that trip and of course getting some more presents to bring with me.
I went to Ikea and it was right there where I saw these stars all throughout the store. I went all around  looking for them until I found them close to the checkout lines, all along the Christmas decor, and WHOOP WHOOP  it was all on sale!

These are star lamps, they're made out of paper and they close flat. They come with hardware to hang them from the ceiling or prop them onto a lamp base. Although, lamp base, cord and bulb are sold separately.

Well, I bought a whole bunch, I'm going to bring some as presents, they don't take much space in my suitcase and for less than three dollars, that's a win win!

I used this, the hardware that came with the lamps to hang them. I didn't buy the cord or bulb because my plan was to use them as simple decor pieces. I used clear nylon thread and Gaffers tape to hang them in place.

I love them! They make such big impact.

I also hung a set of star string lights on the bed. Got them from the Target dollar spot.

I kept the linens very neutral. A simple Joy to the World pillow.

And hey, pom poms!

Little bottle brush trees on one of the side tables.

And a glass container full of ball ornaments on the other one.  Another pom pom garland there hanging down the curtain.

The glow the string lights give to the room is amazing.

Coming  up the steps and catching this glimpse of the room through the banisters put a big smile on my face!

Well guys, I need to go and star concentrating in all the food and cookies and goodies not only for Christmas, but for the entire winter break.
