Our Summer Home Tour

If you're new around here, I've been
changing things in our home for the past six years, trying to update and give character to our home, one DIY project at a time.

Lately, I've been enjoying neutral decor, but this Summer, perhaps due to all the rain we've had, I decided to embrace color and put a cheerful mood into our main rooms.

It all started here in the family room, the space we used the most. Many of the decor pieces came from our patio. Well, if we can't use them outdoors, we better bring them inside!

My collection of bottles and colorful books were the icing on the cake, I sprinkled them all around.

The nesting tables and rug are patio decor items that I haven't been able to used out there.

And nothing like flowers to bring happiness to a room! This is the only bouquet of peonies I've been able to enjoy so far this year. 💗

The kitchen usually get a few changes, mainly on the cupboards.
Kitchen Makeover  |  York Three Light Pendant  |  School House Ceiling Light

Blue glasses replaced the usual bowls and cups I store in the shelves. They give the kitchen a breeze atmosphere.
Range Hood Makeover  |  Area Rug  |  Plate Rack
I'm still infatuated with the color pink, here the pink roses make a good contrast to all the blues.

The kitchen island stayed like this for ten minutes. It's like it has a magnet for clutter. Geeez, everybody drops stuff on it.

Let's go to my office, my happy space. 😉

Well, my wonderful space!
Build-ins  |  Coffered ceiling  | Table
All those colorful books make me happy.

Most of the books and bottles are thrifty finds.

But, there in between them, there are books that I really like.

Here in this little nook, I finally installed those sconces, another thrifty find from years ago. They're totally decorative. I'm looking for some good battery operated lights to fit in there.
Wall Art  |  Bench  |

Well, you know I like a good DIY, and this is something so easy and so very charming...
Clear glass bottles were transformed with the power of this spray paint. 💙💙

Finally, the adjacent living room, where a couple of prints give it a summery vibe.
Coffee Table  |  Rug  | Wall Art
Arched Lamp  |  Board and Batten Wall  | Armillary Sphere

It was fun to decorate the main level of our home for summer. I'm right now working on updating the master bathroom, which means our entire second story floor is complete chaos. It's nice to come down stairs and enjoy the order and color in these rooms!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you've enjoyed the tour and do really hope you stop by again soon.

The tours continue tomorrow with Christy at Our Southern Home.

Here's the line up for the entire tour:
