Yarn Covered Christmas Ball Ornament

Welcome to the third day of our 12 Days of Christmas Ornaments series.

If you like easy...

Super easy projects, this is the one for you. ;)

The only materials you'll need are Styrofoam balls, yarn, and hot glue.

Oh well, I think I forgot something else...

Yeah, this is one of those projects that is better to complete while watching your favorite T.V series.

A glass of wine would help too.

And hey, only one glass, otherwise you're going to end up with wiggly lines!   :)

Going round and round...

Securing the yarn here and there with a dab of glue...

Give the yarn a new direction after another little dab of glue, and continue...

Until completely covered.

But if you're not that patient...

I have you covered too. ;)

There is an even easier route with ribbon.

Applying the hot glue onto the ribbon and pressing those edges firmly, trying to close them up to the best of your ability.

In the end, if you're a good hoarder like I'm, and have saved every little ornament top/holder (how do you call them, anyways), secure one at the top with hot glue.

Some more yarn will also work at keeping those ribbon edges hidden.

I think they look really cute!  However, I'm going to wait 'til next year to cover another one with yarn.

Hmmm, that's going to be a new tradition.

  1. That yarn wrapped one is soooo cute! Seriously, love it. Now, I need to go find some adorable yarn!

  2. I love all of these! I can understand why wrapping one with yarn would take forever, haha, but it's worth it since it's so cute. :)

  3. Me gustan todos, el de hilo rojo es encantador!

  4. super cute. I may dabble in making some ornaments this year.

  5. We are on the same Styrofoam ball wrapping page! I just adore all your twine and ribbon wrapped Christmas balls!

Oh, and I don't think I can stop at one glass of wine. So my lines will be wonky.

    :) Linda

  6. Love your balls and that's not the wine talking.....very cute!

  7. These are so cute. Love the polka dotted one.

  8. So cute! I love all the different versions you made!

  9. Hola Cristina que linda idea , yo tengo ganas de hacer lo mismo para mi árbol navideño !,

  10. Hi Cristina,
These ornaments are both styles. My favorite is the one you made with the red and white twine but I'm not sure I'd have the patience without a couple glasses of wine!
    Thanks for the tutorial,
