Summer Home Tour

summer decor with blue and coral, pillow cases, agave outdoor rug

I'm so glad to join my friend Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for another installment of the Summer Home Tours. Stick with me while I walk you through all the summer updates brought to our home recently.

If you're coming from Eleven Magnolia Lane, welcome! Isn't Christy's new "Mint Chocolate Chip" house the cutest? I love it!

If you're one of my regular readers you probably know I'm on vacation right now. Yes, I'm in my home country, Colombia, with my son on a month-long, and so overdue vacation! I'm having a really good time visiting lots of places and most importantly spending quality time with my family.

For this Summer Home tour, I decided to dress my newest favorite spot in my house, my backyard deck in its best coastal décor.

This was one of my latest projects, the before this space was a total junkyard. The Home Depot challenged me to transform my patio and well, this is what I came up with. You can see the before and after right HERE.

Patio Set with Firepit  |  Rug  |  Turtle Pillow

After completing the makeover during early Spring, this has been our hang-out spot. My son has become an expert in turning on the fire pit.

During the day it looks like a regular round coffee table, but once the night sets in, it's the S'mores spot.

Before heading out on vacation I hosted a mini goodbye party,  giving the entire space a Summery coastal vibe.

Pillowcase  |  Patio Set

The coral and blue palette blended nicely with all the greenery around it.

The serving cart was moved closer to the grill, outside the deck, and instead, I tucked this small dining set right there, in the corner.

Melamine Blue/Green Sea Life Dinnerware set  |  Tablecloth  |  Votives

The little table was set in its best coastal attire... A fishnet tablecloth, those pretty dishes, and my DIY votive centerpiece.

Votive centerpiece  |  Blue crab pillowcase  |  Tablecloth

The table and chairs set was trash to treasure transformation that I'll probably share later on with you. Right now, I can't keep my eyes off that blue crab pillow. Love it!

I've been loving having a rug out here, it feels cozy and the entire space looks like a room inside your house.

Bicycle pillow cover  |  Basket  |  Squirrel (similar)

The same thing happens with the pillows, it's so easy to change the look of a space by simply switching the pillows. Out here, they even serve as sitting cushions.

Step stool |  potting benches

I decided to use the potting benches as serving benches. The paint has held very well. Removing the terracotta planters and giving the shelves a light cleaning was all I needed to have a clean canvas to decorate for Summer.

Melamine Blue/Green Sea Life Dinnerware set  |  Starfish  |  White Serving Platter

The shelves hold decor and serving pieces...
Glass Storage Jar  |  Sea Shells

And lots of seashells! :)
Patio Umbrella  |  Planter  |  String lights

Well, once I come back from my trip I'm going to be out here enjoying this space some more!

Now it's time for you to visit Rhoda at Southern Hospitality Blog a blogger friend I so admire. She has infused her home with lots of southern hospitality charm you don't want to miss!

    1. Thanks Sandy! I think the table/fire-pit is one of the things I like the most about that patio set. Setting fires in it it's really easy, and it has kept us away from electronics enjoying good family time. ;)
