7 Tips for Bringing the Yard Back to Life This Spring

The cold temperatures might have kept us indoors these past days, but now that Spring is here, we better get ready to perk up our outdoor spaces and lawn for the warm days ahead.

Getting out there to start taking care of the yard is my task this weekend.

By tackling a few simple chores, we can bring the beauty back to our outdoor spaces and have them ready for the new season.

Here are my best 7 tips for bringing the yard back to life this spring:

1.  Clean up the yard

Winter inflects lots of damage around your yard. Remove plants that didn't survive. Prune damaged or dead branches from trees or bushes.

Don't forget to also clean up the walkways and remove damaged planters or out-of-season yard decor.

2.  Start taking care of the lawn by dethatching, aerating, feeding, seeding, and start mowing the grass.

3. Plant any new bushes or trees.

4. Plant colorful annuals.

5. Edge and mulch those flower beds.

6. Add seasonal decor to your front door and porch.

7. Don't forget to water your lawn and garden!

This is how that flower bed in our front yard looks at the moment. So sad.

I can't wait to start giving that flower bed a sharp edge as I have to do every single year.

That's precisely the post I'm sharing with you and my Home & Decor Encore pals: How to give flower beds a sharp edge!

Welcome back to another edition of Home & Decor Encore, a weekly series where my friends and I share the best of the best from our archives.

Big thanks to Doreen at Hymns & Verses & Lori at The Stonybrook House for organizing this group.
