A Painted Kitchen Island

Give your kitchen a brand new look for Spring
Don't you love how painted projects can instantly change a space in your home? or a piece of furniture? Well, just about any given object can be transformed with paint. I love to call it the magic of paint and this old kitchen island of mine has received a few of those magical makeovers.

Do you want to give your kitchen a new look this Spring? The easiest way to do it, IMHO, is by painting the kitchen island a brand new color. It'll only take you one afternoon and less than a quart of paint and you get to enjoy a new island and kitchen look for years to come.

This is how my kitchen island looked before painting it Duck Egg Blue with Annie Sloan chalk paint.
Yep. really dark - chocolate brown.

The new color was a breath of fresh air for the entire kitchen.

Welcome to another edition of Home & Decor Encore where my blogging friends and I share the best of the best from our archives.

Big thanks to Doreen at Hymns & Verses for organizing this group.

In today's posts, Doreen shares how to create the cutest fortune cookie Easter eggs, Lori has the tutorial on how to easily extend kitchen cabinets all the way to the ceiling, Laura shows you how to make easy jute placemats, Christy gives you all the details for you to make your very own wire basket wreath and I share all the steps on how to paint a kitchen island with chalk paint, adding a glaze to highlight its features.

Victoria
