Fall Tablescape - DIY Creative Team

butternut squash soup served on French onion soup bowls as part of a Fall tablescape with red plates, yellow napkins and lots of pumpkins

Hello!

Today I'm back with the The DIY Creative Team,  Brenda, Cassie, and Susan. And we're happy to bring you four different Fall tablescapes so you can gather ideas for your Fall or Thanksgiving table.

I'm right now working on updating my dining room, so I used the kitchen table.
I decided to go for a traditional Fall Harvest table in miniature. The base for the entire set up was the striking plaid throw that you've already seen in other rooms in my house. I just love it. I bought it at Jo-Ann Fabrics not long ago.

From there, it was all about giving the table warmth and texture.

Little pumpkins and dried artichokes mounted on a wooden board created the "bounty of the season's" centerpiece.

A birch wood garland, found at Hobby Lobby, was wrapped all around the wooden board.

As for the food, well, nothing more heart warming than a creamy butternut squash soup.

It's funny how we change as we age. I remember as a little girl not liking any foods related to the squash family. I just hated each time my mother served us squash and we had eat every last morsel.

Nowadays, I just love it. It's so creamy and delicious, but guess what? My son really dislikes it!
I serve him the same amount that I serve to all of us, but I know he's gonna have just a few spoonfuls... The rest, is going to be all mine. ;)

I simply know someday he's going to love it too.  I just hope it doesn't take that long.

  5. Your tablescape is so fun and festive! I'm not big on squash myself. Maybe I need to dine at your table and I might find myself liking it! Now, after seeing a comment above, I have to admit that I do love beets.
