RLC Christmas Home Tour

Front porch dressed for Christmas with trio wreath and wooden planters while snow is falling down on pine trees.

Welcome to my casa, everyone...

I'm super excited to be part of this year's Holiday Home Tour, hosted by the talented Marty from A Stroll Thru Life. If you're visiting from Emily's home tour at Eleven Gables, I'm so glad you stopped by.

It's been almost five years since I decided to change the way my home looked. It's been a huge learning experience, and this blog is where I share it all. From small craft projects to big room renovations, we're making this house our home.

My style has been very traditional. A couple of years ago, I was leaning towards the transitional side, using lots of black and bold colors, but lately, I've been changing to a more traditional farmhouse style, and I think my Christmas home tour shows some of it.

wooden planters with deer silhouette on them behind red metal luminaries and seasons greeting rug

I was glad to participate in Home Depot's DIY Front Porch Decor Virtual Party. A trio of boxwood wreaths created the focal point on my little porch. But let's go inside!

vintage sled used as Christmas decor with white skates, trimmings from the yard and red plaid ribbon.

A vintage sled holding the ice skates my daughter used when she was a little skater adorns the foyer.

vintage, repurpose, telephone, ad, Bell systems, telegraph, wall art,

The living room has a new look. In my previous project, the telephone advertisement sign replaced the gallery of old windows that this wall had sported for a very long time. It feels emptier, but I thought it was time for the windows to go.

Express wooden wagon on coffee table as a little dosis of vintage decor, brush tree

On the coffee table, a vintage train car holds a little tree.

Christmas tablescape with pom pom blanket on parson chairs, and boxwood wreath on window with Noel sign

I hung another boxwood wreath in the adjacent dining room. I love them, and I can use them year-round.

sphere chandelier, red wooden bead garland, pinecones, white dishes

However, the thing I like the most in my dining room at this moment is the sphere chandelier. It steals the show and makes the room much brighter than the previous light fixture!

Christmas table with white cake stand and mason jar luminaries

The table is half done, as usual, my white dishes are the ones to be used. As a centerpiece, the Epsom Salts luminaries make quite a statement.

range hood decorated for Christmas with a little green wreath.

This tiny kitchen has minimal holiday decor: some ornaments on the shelves and a small wreath on the range hood.

Little Christmas tree on kitchen window sill decor

A tiny pine tree I found in the yard on the windowsill makes me smile whenever I wash dishes in the sink. It's the cutest!

When it grows more, I plan on transplanting it outdoors.

Kitchen Christmas decor

A basket full of pomegranates and a joy sign are items I can quickly put away if I need to work on the kitchen island.

The breakfast table is the one we use the most.

white dishes and gold and white salad plates

I set a quick tablescape with these gorgeous plates by Better Homes and Gardens from Walmart.

A trio of bleach pine cones as a centerpiece, and...
Norwegian tree for Christmas on kitchen table.

The wooden dowel tree, this time dressed in red with small wooden ornaments.

white Napkins and silverware bundled up with burlap ribbon and clippings from the yard.

The napkins and silverware are tied in a bundle. ;)

Family room with fireplace mantel, Christmas tree, white chair and wooden coffee table decorated for Christmas

On the other side is the family room, where we spend most of our time. This is the first year we have the Christmas tree right next to the fireplace, and wow, it makes a huge difference.

From now on, this is going to be its proper place.

Mantel with wood tone backdrop, little skates and deer figure

The cotton wreath on the mantel is one of my favorites; it gives a nice texture to the whole scene.

White and wooden tone palette flocked Christmas tree decor.

Mr. Bear is still keeping his post by the side of the Christmas tree.

little christmas tree under cloche on coffee table with owls and spot it game

A frosted bottle brush tree under a cloche on the coffee table, sporting the same treatment as the luminaries in the dining room, with Epsom Salts.

This is also the season for board games at RLC, one of our faves is Spot It. It's fun and good for little kids and adults; you just need a quick eye. ;)

Red and white Christmas decor for Cocoa station with lots of goodies

Finally, I created a hot cocoa station in my laundry room, bar area, and passageway —Phhhf, there are so many titles for such a small room!

But oh well, I'm tickled pink by just looking at it every time I get home. All the details about it are right HERE.

Right now

  18. Cristina, I love your home and every project you've completed to create it so well! You are just full of terrific ideas so well executed! I'm like you - none or very little decor in the kitchen - need the space for working (except my wine rack, because we're not drinkers!). I was visiting your hot chocolate bar (too cute), and had to back track for this fabulousness. Merry Christmas!
