Red, White and Blue Living Room

Red, White and Blue Living Room

I took a small break working on the guest room to give the living room a quick makeover. I loved how it looked all dressed for Spring with lots of green and yellow, you can see it right HERE, but for Summer I wanted to give it another look.

The great thing is, it was super easy!
As usual, the main focus in this room are the old windows, they are such a big display, this time I gave them the look of an American flag using burlap ribbons.

*This is NOT a flag, it's not intended to be a flag, it is only a patriotic art project*

The materials you'll need:
  • 1 big spool natural color burlap ribbon
  • 2 big spools red burlap ribbon
  • 2 big spools blue with stars burlap ribbon
  • scissors
  • tape

The instructions are plain and simple: Cut the burlap to fit the old windows and attach it with tape.
That's it!

At first I thought I only needed one spool of red, but nope :/ One more trip to Walmart was needed. The natural color burlap was longer than the red or blue. This is how it looked mid way.

Up close this is how they look on the windows.

Once the windows were ready, it was time to bring some more flair to the room, my vintage watering can was perfect to hold some white flowers.

New napkin pillows were placed on the sofa...

And the room got totally changed!

:)

Some more patriotic projects:

Banner
Stars

Wreath
Table Runner

Pencil Holders

This looks really pretty! Love big statements! I used to live in an old house that had a navy blue clawfoot tub (it was that way when we moved it)...so I decorated that bathroom in Americana and everyone loved it!

I love how easy it is for you to change up your room for each season! Such a great way with such a big feature. I honestly thought that was a vintage flag...can not believe you made that looks awesome!

That gorgeous living room is calling to me.

I have the white sofa and blue buffalo check pillows. I think I need a flag pillow on the sofa, quickly, before the 4th.
