Red, White and Blue Living Room

patriotic decor in living room with american flag art on old window wall gallery

Summer is almost here! I thought that dressing my old window gallery with the colors of the American flag would be a great welcome to the warm days ahead of us and especially to celebrate Memorial and Fourth of July.

I took a small break from working on the guest room to give the living room a quick makeover. I loved how it looked all dressed for Spring with lots of green and yellow, you can see it right HERE, but for Summer I wanted to give it another look.

The great thing is...  It was super easy!

As usual, the main focus in this room is the old windows, they are a gigantic display.
This time I gave them the look of an American flag using burlap ribbons.

*This is NOT a flag, it's not intended to be a flag, it is only a patriotic art project that resembles the flag*

The materials you'll need: (affiliate links)

The instructions are plain and simple: Cut the burlap to fit the old windows and attach it with tape.

That's it!

At first, I thought I only needed one spool of red, but nope :/ One more extra roll was needed. The natural color burlap was longer than red or blue. This is how it looked mid-way.

Up close, this is how they look on the windows.

Once the windows were ready, it was time to bring some more flair to the room, my vintage watering can is perfect to hold some white flowers.

New napkin pillows were placed on the sofa...

And the room got totally changed!
