The Home Depot Patio Style Challenge Reveal

a drab backyard space is transformed with the addition of a deck and new outdoor furniture

Hi Friends,

It's finally here! I'm so excited to share with you today our Home Depot Patio Style Challenge.

It's hard to believe this ugly space we had as a backyard for so many years could look so good!

a drab backyard space full of weeds and odd stuff.

This past month was spent sprucing this little square space, and right now, we're simply enjoying it!
Head off to the Home Depot Blog HERE to see the complete transformation.

The Home Depot #patiostylechallenge with yellow and blue decor

I hope you like it as much as we do!

  2. Love it all! Let me know how the composite decking holds up. I have a deck that got a bit "chewed up" one year when I got a little carried away with a power washer! I want to eventually replace it with composite decking but 1) I'm lazy and whatever and 2) I want something that will stand the test of time! But again, it all looks beautiful. Now you just need to build a pergola over it all! No biggy!!!!

    1. That's one of the things in the building of the deck where I splurged. I used Trex and I'm loving it! It has a 25 year guaranty for material defects and same thing for fade & stain. The last thing I want to do is deal with splinters or staining those boards.
My first plan for the deck included a privacy wall on the side where the potting benches are located, but the HOA didn't approve of it. :( imagine a pergola! That would've been a big no! :/
Thanks for stopping by, I always appreciate your input!

    1. Oh, we've been there -weather permitting- every evening since work was done. The fire-pit is one of things we have used the most. Thanks so much for your kind words, Kate!
