Tree Stump Side Table

Remembering all the men and women who sacrificed their lives fighting for our country,
and my heart felt condolences to their families on this
Memorial Day.

With the unofficial start of Summer, my gears are full speed ahead in the decorating department...

In one week, I'll be joining dear Marty from A Stroll Thru Life, for this year's Summer Home Tours kick off.

I'll have my open casa on June 6, and you all are very welcome to stop by!

So, as I said, I've been prettying things up, as usual, trying to do it on a budget by changing and updating regular old stuff I have.

This time, the makeover was done to this tree stump I got years ago.
I wish I hadn't used that dark stain on it. I was loving lots of contrast, but that has changed lately.
I'm now leaning towards a much brighter look.

The light bulb moment appeared when I found a pretty accent rug at Tuesday Morning. I bought it because I love the design it has, the texture and the blue and white color.

I couldn't find a space for it using it the normal way, as a rug. It's very small.
It sat there for some weeks, until the day when getting into the house from the garage, the stump winked at me. ;)

I brought it inside the house and the rug was wrapped around it...  Hmmm too short. :/

But hey, nothing that a piece of ribbon can't fix.

They both got stapled to the stump.

The staples are hard to notice because they were lined up with the seams on the rug

And the little tree stump table was topped off with a wooden board from the kitchen, attached with strong double sided tape.

Ha, that was an EASY makeover, don't ya think so?!

    1. :D Thanks Julie! That's a chair, the one I painted the fabric with homemade chalk paint, At the time it felt like an old marshmallow. However, they (there were two) have softened up.

  5. That was such a clever idea! The table now has the look of something cool and eclectic from a high end store. Isn't it fun that we all dream up some little side table from time to time. I never would have thought to cover this but I love it!
