"Angels Watching Over Us"—that is the name I chose for my Christmas mantel this year. I had just begun my holiday decorating when the heartbreaking news from Sandy Hook Elementary School broke. In that moment of reflection, this mantel was born.
It serves as my small tribute to those sweet souls and a reminder of all the angels watching over us this season.
The centerpiece of this display is a DIY wall art project made with a bit of Mod Podge and a lot of heart. The image of the three little angels actually came from a cherished Hallmark greeting card a friend sent us years ago.
A trio of angels was placed on the floor; a tutorial on making them is right HERE.
A pile of stacked books serves as a table. Hmm, it looks more like a Christmas tree. ;)

I've always loved these three little faces, so I decided to enlarge the image significantly to create a focal point for the room. It's a simple project, but it brings so much peace to our home.
I set to work on twenty angels!
Two wooden angels are on each extreme of the mantel. Six on the garland are old ornaments that were spray-painted white.
And yes, the set of stocking holders needs an E. If you follow me, you already know that story; if not, you can read about it HERE. The saga of finding that missing letter is still going on.

The star was one of the projects I brought to the Hometalk TV - Segment, but it is an idea I got from my friend Dria.
Remember, you, too, have Angels Watching Over You!
