Double Ribbon Valentines Wreath

Do you have a spool of ribbon, maybe two?
How about a wire hanger?
I'm sure you have them ;)
So, let's make this wreath!

This project was inspired by Jessica, I love the Christmas wreath she created, so much so that I went ahead and created this similar version which I also shared over at Pretty Handy Girl  for Valentines.

The materials you'll need:
  • One wire hanger
  • 15 yd wired edge ribbon 1½" wide
  • 15 yd wired edge ribbon .62" wide
  • Pliers
  • awl
  • small decoration to hang on center or wreath
  • 2 yds decorative ribbon to hang the wreath
  • Scotch tape or glue gun

Instructions:

Using the pliers unravel the coil on the hanger.  Make a heart shape with it.

I bought a big 50 yd. wired ribbon spool (two ribbons) at Costco for about $7.50.  I think that's a good bang for your buck.

Unwrap your entire spool of ribbons (I used 15 yds of each, but you can certainly use less than that or even only use one ribbon as my inspiration did). Find the ends on both your ribbons and secure them with Scotch tape, wrong sides facing each other.

Find the center fold on each of your ribbons. Place the narrower ribbon fold over the the wider ribbon's.

Now is the time to begin getting the ribbon into the wire. Using the awl begin poking a hole 1¼" from the fold, through the four ribbons (remember is folded), continue poking holes every 2½" in accordion style...

Until all your ribbons get into the wire.

Coil the wire ends, cut and bring the small coil upwards. Tidy up ribbon ends.

Fluff and arrange folds.

Attach a center decoration.

Finally, using an extra piece of ribbon hang it on your door.

    XOXO,
