Break time in Girardot

I have been so absent from blog world! Well, my pc was part of it! It was not letting me write posts! The problem was fixed and here I am!
I'm still on vacation, the past weekend we got to go on a mini-vacation within the vacation!
Here is why.  Bogota is a big city, as with mayor cities the traffic and the hustle and bustle of the city are something we are not used to that much anymore! That's why we decided to spend the weekend in a close by small town.
Bogota sits a top of a mountain, at 2,625 meters (8,612 ft) above sea level, that means its temperature year round is like a mild Spring!

Leaving the big city behind, this is the wonderful scenery we got to enjoy!

Far away you can see a part of the Andes mountains.

Beauty has to be touched in order to give progress a chance! Roads had being carved from the mountains.

Some others are left untouched, like this famous one! La Nariz del Diablo (Devil's Nose), closer to our destination: Girardot!

After about three hours trip we arrived at Girardot, a tropical climate city best known for being an excellent tourist destination!

Once in the hotel, I cannot stop admiring the diverse vegetation!

Isn't it amazing how mother nature makes such beautiful designs?!
The kids were more interested in finding the pool!  It was hot, hot, HOT!

After swimming and relaxing (for the adults mostly), it was time to visit the restaurant.  I loved it!...

Up inside it was incredible!

There we got to spend a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of our stay as a one big family, without worrying about what's for dinner!

It felt a bit like being on the beach, but here we were surrounded by mountains!

Perhaps it was the lake with it's small beach area that created that illusion.

We took a water bike ride around the lake.  The views simply gorgeous!

It was a very enjoyable place to visit!

Here I went on the Zip Line to the other side of the lake and back!  The kiddos were so upset they were not allowed!  Age and weight restrictions.

But one of the most important things I liked about this trip was how my kids got to spend such a great time playing and getting to know their cousins!  That was priceless!

My kids at both ends with Paula, Aleja, and Nico!  I love them!
