DIY Floating Shelves on Hometalk

Floating shelves always intrigued me, their minimalist look was something that spoke to me and made me bring them to my own home.

One of my first projects, about four years ago, even before I started this blog, was to build a floating shelf  to be placed above the television set. It took me some time to create it, the cuts were not perfect, I still remember lots of sanding involved, but the whole structure was strong and to this day it's still holding nicely in the same spot in my family room.

That small shelf project gave me the confidence to go and build three more shelves in the powder room, this time around the process was much easier, and we gained lots of needed storage space in this small room.

Well, it looks like it isn't just me the one who loves floating shelves! If you're also loving this organizational style, head over to Hometalk where I've curated a DIY Floating Shelves board where you're going to find lots of tutorials on how to bring this concept to your own home and by a fraction of the price you pay at regular stores!

Lots of ideas, lots of inspiration.

Happy Hometalk-ing!
