My Christmas decorating began last weekend, as usual the first place we took care of was the mantel! We spend such a good amount of time in this our family room/kitchen area that all the changes I keep on doing to this room are all well worth it, we enjoy them!
This year I've been on a blue craziness, of course the main color for the mantel had to be blue. It began with this bubble wreath inspiration from CB2 Blog HERE, they have a great tutorial on how you can put together that wreath.
Third, I didn't use all the bubble balls they used on theirs, because of the size and mostly price ($86.51)!
I did used 10 of the small bubble balls they sell ($1.95 each), in my set up they are the biggest. I bought three more different sizes of regular Christmas balls ornaments in clear and silver.
Finally, the board was painted blue and then before the paint was dry some glitter was added. When we went back to admire our job, my kids were not so happy, they proposed to add some scattered snow flakes around it (They were having a gooood time using the snow flake punching machine), and I liked their idea!
Blue and White Christmas stockings I made last year were decorated with a sparkly snow flake ornament.
A snowy yarn garland holds some blue ball ornaments.
Sweater Christmas cones on each side wrap up the wintery scene.
These five small snow friends bring a good pop of color and lots of fun.
The decorations continue today, Black Friday, with our Christmas tree. Next week I'l be showing it to you.
