Also, no need to sand between poly coats if you coat it twice within 24 hours, which is no problem with water-based poly. Also, sandpaper has a "grit," not a "grid." The amount of grit reflects how rough it is. Last bit of advice, if you use spar varnish (available at any home improvement store), it will wear longer, and is waterproof (they use it on boats). If you apply the spar varnish after the planks are installed, you'll actually be waterproofing the cracks between as well, which makes for great peace of mind!stillwatergirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16337995927388666786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7618114936688162288.post-87606990534900650412016-07-16T23:51:25.699-04:002016-07-16T23:51:25.699-04:00That's a really good option, if it doesn't...That's a really good option, if it doesn't require me working there close to the floor.Cristina Garayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16229690505771934030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7618114936688162288.post-23537412153803462532016-06-17T11:19:06.893-04:002016-06-17T11:19:06.893-04:00Instead of hand sanding, could you just rent a com...Instead of hand sanding, could you just rent a commercial floor sander after the boards are installed then stain?ctajkubishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13997499778326689112noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7618114936688162288.post-50095991689664643612015-10-31T10:55:35.516-04:002015-10-31T10:55:35.516-04:00This is going to be amazing Cristina!! My plan, depending on how much I like it here in this room, is to install the same planks in all my second floor (That'll be sometime next year). The first picture in this post is a sneak peek of the room with the floor in place, I have no idea what to use as a temporarily transition between the planks and the carpet. I don't want nails driven into the planks. I need a trip to the home center to check the options they have.Cristina Garayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16229690505771934030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7618114936688162288.post-30973368917061197672015-10-29T09:21:30.841-04:002015-10-29T09:21:30.841-04:00Looking good, can't wait to see how it turns o...Looking good, can't wait to see how it turns out!Julie @ followyourheartwoodworkinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12186806888262891917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7618114936688162288.post-22696379129411875632015-10-29T09:08:37.452-04:002015-10-29T09:08:37.452-04:00A big job!
