Well Hello!

I've said it many times before, and I will repeat it, I don't decorate much for Valentine's, but after taking down and packing all the Christmas decor, the house looked empty.

So here I am with one more Valentine's day mantel.

Creating a mantel display was the first thing to do after getting rid of Christmas here in our family room, the space we use the most in our home.

This rustic display with a neutral color palette allows me to leave it here way past Valentine's day or even after Summer, who knows. ;)

Rustic Heart Wall Art

As many of you already know, the focal point, the rustic heart wall art, was a DIY project using repurposed materials. You can check that project right HERE.

Only after editing the pictures, I noticed the Sharpie marks on the edges of the hearts.
Note to self: Trace the shape on the back of the metal. ðŸ™„

But hey, I love all that rust and the nail holes on the small heart.

I added the beaded heart to brighten up those weathered hearts, and my daughter got me the pom garlands.

I love the grey, white and pink combo. These soft fluffy pom poms are a stark contrast to the roughly aged centerpiece.

The paper cone trees that I crafted for Christmas came in handy. They were mounted atop wooden candle holders.

The final element to be added were these metal tealight holders I got during Christmas at Walmart. Christmas decor always comes in handy during this transitional time.

And just by sprucing up this little area, my family room no longer feels that empty.

Do you decorate for Valentine's? How far do you go?
