Happy New Year!

black and white and gold paper plates in a clock design with numbers to 12

Hi friends,

I've been MIA these past few days, I've been taking some time off from blogging, social media, and projects. I was trying to be more present here in my home and with my family during this holiday season. However, before the year comes to a close, I wanted to share this small project with you all.

We usually don't celebrate the arrival of a new year, but when I found these paper plates over at HomeGoods the other day, the idea of doing a little celebration appeared. Well, I just had to tell my daughter, and she immediately called her friends, and yeah, they are coming to celebrate tonight. :)

My plan: A table full of goodies and food.

Christmas wrapping paper cut it in strips to make a table skirt

I used one folding table and topped it off with an old door I had in my stash. In order to dress it a bit more, I went rummaging thru all those old Christmas wrapping papers I've been collecting for years... This yellowish with a white back was kinda nice to use for a table skirt. It was attached to the table with clear tape.

gaffers tape used to attach paper goods on the wall

Out of black and gold paper, the words Happy New Year were cut out, and onto the wall, they went.
I always use gaffers tape (aff.) to attach things onto my walls, it leaves no residue and it doesn't damage the wall.

Guess what? The clock paper plates were also mounted to the wall. ;)

buffet table decorated for New Years.

And that's the starting point for this black, gold, and silver new year's celebration.

old door used as table for buffet

The door a top the table gave me a big surface for my display.  More clock plates were brought in, those little ones were bought last year at TJ Maxx.

Cupcakes on stand, clock plates, Christmas ball ornaments, fancy glassware and paper straws

My cake plate stands were a good choice to give the table different levels.

Christmas ball ornaments in glass jar, gold tinsel tree and gold polka dot hats

The Christmas ball ornaments and little tree make a good statement on a New Year's buffet table.

Fancy glassware on plate stand with gold paper straws

Hey, New Year's parties are a good opportunity to show off those pretty and elaborate glasses you haven't used all year!

paper and china clock plates for New Year's eve celebration

I really love these clock paper plates with their "Kiss me at midnight" words. 16 plates for under 5 bucks. C'mon so good!

They even work as wall art! And your guests can easily find the plates. :D

Happy New Year top hat garland.

Finally, no New Year's Eve party is ever complete without balloons, hats, noise makers, fancy straws, glassware, garlands, and lights, I love those little lights, they give the entire room such a nice glow.
